Diamond Princess En Plein Aire
dir. Jacolby Satterwhite and Trina
In the most recent installment in Jacolby Satterwhite’s Reifying Desire video series (on view in the 2014 Whitney Biennial) the artist continues his exploration of 3-D animation and digital space as a utopian realm to explore memory and personal history. Scored by Patricia Satterwhite's drawings and Miami rapper Trina's iconic Diamond Princess album, the piece uses the hyperbolic language and imagery from both sources to construct a hedonistic, performative and queer utopic narrative.
